Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup thinly sliced onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt

- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Form into 8 balls, then patties by spreading out.
- Over moderate flame, heat oil in a big skillet. Fry the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they are beautifully browned, after adding the onion. Place the meat patties on a plate and keep them heated.
- Onions and drippings in the skillet should be covered with flour. Using a fork, mix in the flour while scraping any meat crumbs off the skillet’s bottom. Add the sherry and beef broth little by little. Add seasoning salt to your food. Over low heat, simmer and stir for 5 minutes or until gravy thickens.
- Reduce heat to low, return patties to the gravy, cover, and simmer until cooked through, about 15 minutes.Serve with hot rice or potatoes for an easy-to-make dinner classic.
