How to Make Olive Garden Chocolate Lasagna
Every bite makes the effort worthwhile, even though stacking each layer takes a little patience.
Ingredients
For the brownie layers:
- 2 boxes brownie mix, plus ingredients on box
- 2 eggs
- For the cream cheese filling:
- 2 (8-ounce) bricks cream cheese, softened
- 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 8 cups powdered sugar
For the chocolate ganache:
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- Chocolate shavings, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: preparing the brownie batter
Follow the directions on the box while preparing the brownie mixtures. Each batch of batter should have one extra egg added
Step 2: Bake the brownies
Bake the brownies in two 8×8-inch square pans according to the instructions on the box. Once the brownies are fully baked, remove them from the oven and set aside to cool completely.
Step 3: Make the cream cheese filling
Add the softened butter and cream cheese to a mixing bowl. Two cups of powdered sugar should be added after the mixture has been hand-mixed until frothy. After incorporating the heavy cream and vanilla extract, add the powdered sugar. Add the rest of the powdered sugar gradually until the frosting comes together.
Step 4: Layer the brownies and filling
Remove the brownie cakes from the pans once they have completely cooled. Each should be split in half horizontally using a big knife. You will then have four layers created. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the top layer before setting it on the serving dish. Repeat with each layer, topping each one with another brownie layer and frosting. Place the dessert in the refrigerator after frosting the top layer.
Step 5: Make the chocolate ganache
Chop the chocolate and put it in a heat-safe bowl. Set it aside. Pour the heavy cream into a saucepan and heat on medium. Allow the cream to heat just until simmering (boiling will scorch it, so watch carefully). Once heated, pour the cream over the chocolate and whisk until smooth. Now you have ganache. Drizzle it over the chocolate lasagna and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Tips
- Lining the pans with foil or parchment paper before you add the batter is mostly recommended. That way, once the brownies are baked and cooled, you can lift them right out of the pan more easily.
- A brownie mix makes the perfect dessert foundation. The secret is to add an additional egg to each batch, which will produce a fluffier product and make cutting the layers horizontally easier.
